this was my ideal moodboard, with the slouch boyfriend yet clean cut look
Trip out to LDN and discovered these androgynous people
Favourite photos from todays photoshoot
I think todays photoshoot was very successful compared to the first trial one, as it was sunny and lovely weather so it was considerably better conditions for it and the places we shot at was more suitable for the theme.
I chose the area for my photoshoot as graffiti and forestry as I wanted it to slyly contrast the outfit just to make it stick out even more.
I’m very happy with how the photos came out, how Yasmins hair flows is lovely against the shirt. I think her looks is so elegant, girly and flawless it is so different to the clothing which makes it so great.
Final Photoshoot
For the final photoshoot, I want to mainly focus on the body from the waist up as my garments are both top part of the body
I want the hair to be natural or pulled back into a bun, make up to be minimal/ classy & I want to use a lot of light in the photos behind her so shes highlighted of some sort.
I would like to do a photoshoot in a derelict sight, but we haven’t got permission to go into any buildings in southend, so maybe a graffiti area too?
Not too sure on the shoes so I might have some pumps with studs all over for a more masculine touch to it.
As our photoshoots are for I-D magazine we have to style them accordingly to their shoots, as each cover has either one of their eyes closed winking or its completely covered, im not sure how im going to achieve this so I think im going to do the winking pose.
I would like to say that I have created an outfit for the mass market, comparing my final outcome to clothes sold in shops like Zara. I found it easier relating to this sort of market level and designing clothes as I like the idea of clean, fresh and kind of simple clothing yet effective.
I didn’t really find it that difficult to do something for this project of Androgyny as i’m not a very girly girl so i succumb to the male clothing on a regular basis so i’m used to the male fashion, casual or smart.
My outfit doesn’t fully show the Androgyny side despite being a blazer and a shirt, the material for the shirt is quite flowing and feminine compared to a mens shirt. The blazers got a masculine touch with its clean cut edges, without a collar so it has a fresh look around your neck which can outline your shirt button placket.
I liked the idea of blogging rather than doing a sketchbook, as this process is a lot more modern and easier to view with the pages and easy to see layouts. I’d prefer to do this with more units as its easier to understand and if you blog regularly then this is an easy thing to do and time saving rather than the hassle of doing a sketchbook. Also more economical.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MODERN AND OLDER VOGUE MAGAZINES
- They both still have the advertising pages in the first couple of pages, although the older magazine doesn’t have much big brand advertising in it.
- They both have similar colour pallets throughout.
- The more recent Vogue is more fashion orientated and stylized, with glossy paper and all the images photoshopped to create a cleaner more perfect look of women.
- The older Vogue is low budget compared to now, with more cultural pages rather than imagery advertising expensive items or beauty cosmetics etc.
- The poses and women in the modern Vogue are more exciting and the models are super skinny whereas the poses in the older version are plain and boring and the women are more normal figured, nowadays they would be called plus size models most likely compared to the ones in the modern magazines.
